The First National Bank Essay Scholarship on "The Importance of Community Banking"
Each year, The First National Bank encourages all Mattoon High School seniors to participate in a state-wide essay scholarship contest sponsored by the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI). As well as being eligible for state-wide award money, The First National Bank chooses one local winner for a $1,000 award. Applications are available beginning in the Fall and are due early Spring and can be picked up at the Mattoon High School guidance office.
